The role is flexible. Applicants should be authorised to work in India. Applicants will need to have their laptops and access to a functioning internet connection. Currently, we have a flexible mode of operation where we work from home for two days a week.

About Project

The Mainstreaming Behavioral Science in Climate Action program builds on the findings and knowledge of the Low-Carbon Lifestyles (LCL) program (Phase 1). It supports behaviorally-informed climate policies, creates capacity among partners to apply behavioural science to their activities, and establishes India’s leading dedicated research and advocacy program on behavioural change and climate action through developing a robust programmatic strategy. Role and Responsibilities

The Senior Research Associate will work with the Project team to support all research-related activities. The role would involve reviewing literature to gather behavioural and methodological insights and designing experimental protocols for research projects and grant proposals.

The Senior Research Associate (Field) would oversee the full range of activities, from design and implementation to data management for projects requiring empirical research. The associate will also provide technical expertise in Grant/Proposal writing.

  • Supporting the development of experimental design protocols for research projects and grant proposals
  • Conducting literature reviews to deepen understanding of the behavioural science evidence base and methodologies used
  • Drafting, piloting and programming measurement instruments for lab, lab-in-the-field, field experiments and quasi-experimental designs
  • Conducting sample size calculations
  • Preparing and submitting IRB applications
  • Devising implementation and deployment plans
  • Supporting the development of training modules in Climate and Behavioural Science
  • Supporting dissemination efforts of our Phase 1 findings through preparing reports/ presentations/ papers/ articles, etc.
  • Writing grant proposals and leading the technical inputs for such proposals, including detailed research methodology
Eligibility

Education Qualification:

  • A Master’s degree in economics, statistics, psychology, sociology, public policy or related fields

Competencies:

  • Ability to manage and respond to varied tasks in a quick and efficient manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluency in English, along with conversational skills in at least one Indian language, preferably Hindi
  • Willingness to travel to field locations, as required

Skill Sets:

  • Familiarity with R, Stata or other similar software for statistical computing
  • Familiarity with programming questionnaires on SurveyCTO, Qualtrics or similar applications is a plus
  • Experience in Grant writing
