Our Story

Impactful behaviour change interventions for marginalised populations.

The Centre for Social and Behaviour Change seeks to establish a leading Indian institution, driving behavioural change measures for people and communities in need.

We advance the science and practice of behaviour changes, harnessing cross-disciplinary expertise in the areas of nutrition, sanitation, maternal health, family planning, and financial services.

What we do

The Centre works in the areas of nutrition, sanitation, maternal health, family planning and financial services. The Centre executes this vision through a mix of Behavioural Change programmes, Foundational Research and Capability Building.

Behaviour Change Interventions

In partnership with the Government of India and non-government organisations, we implement interventions to alter behaviour and decision-making.

Foundational Research

We conduct pioneering interdisciplinary research to advance behavioural science and identify strategies to drive change in marginalised communities.

Capability Building

We adopt a systematic management approach to learning and development and deliver it to the right people, strengthening their capabilities to affect grassroot-level behavioural change.

Our Process

The process is divided into 4 stages: Discover, Design, Evaluate, and Support Scale Up.

Behavioural Insights Units

We work closely with a range of government partners to bring about positive behavioural change in society through impactful policymaking and behavioural interventions.

Project Partners

We collaborate with multidisciplinary experts and reputed organisations on pioneering projects to test and identify behavioural problems and develop intervention strategies.

Academic Partnerships

Our partnerships with academic experts, other universities, and educational networks open up novel avenues for us to advance the quality of our research, kindling innovation.

End to End

We provide evidence-based interventions and develop critical drivers to solve behavioural challenges to drive noticeable and impactful changes at the grassroots level.

Robust Lab

Our behaviour lab is a global platform, allowing academicians and researchers to conduct experiments, access data resources, test behavioural interventions, and collaborate effectively with CSBC.

Our process involves designing interventions and receiving feedback from target groups at every step of the way to ensure meaningful impact.

We design interventions across formats, delivery channels, and user types to arrive at behaviourally informed, impactful, and feasible solutions to implement at scale.

Team and Partners

We're driven by a diverse group of partners such as academic institutions, implementation partners, and policy influencers, who make a difference through a shared vision.
