India's most critical challenges, climate, financial inclusion, preventive healthcare, haven't stalled for lack of funding or intent. They've stalled because a breakthrough idea only matters once it changes what people do. The Moonshot Philanthropy Summit starts from one conviction: behavioural science, sharpened by AI and backed by bold philanthropy, is how ambitious ideas turn into habits that hold across a billion lives.
The summit looks at how behavioural evidence turns interventions into everyday habits, how AI helps that evidence travel across India's diversity of language and context, and how philanthropy can fund the experimentation this takes. It also asks the harder question: how do we measure and reward ideas whose real payoff is behaviour that lasts?

The Summit
The Moonshot Philanthropy Summit is convened by Ashoka University's Centre for Social and Behaviour Change to put a bigger question to Indian philanthropy: what would it take to fund the solutions our future actually needs? Over one curated evening in Mumbai, it brings funders, founders, scientists and policymakers into a single conversation about moonshot interventions, behavioural science, AI, and the investment frameworks that turn ideas into transformation at population scale.
This isn't a conference to sit through. It's a working room: live case narratives, real-time brainstorming and a shared ambition to move India's philanthropic capital from incremental giving to catalytic investment.
The Organisers
The Centre for Social and Behaviour Change at Ashoka University works at the frontier of behavioural science and its application to India's toughest development challenges. Its teams combine rigorous research, behavioural experimentation and emerging AI tools to build interventions that shift behaviour and improve outcomes at population scale – across health, nutrition, financial inclusion and beyond.
